Prince George, BC -
Today the PGCF and Rotary Club of Prince George Downtown are proud to announce the award of $76,513.17 to the Supertrak BMX Society. This substantial grant represents all funds remaining from the proposed mega park project, including the 50/50 proceeds from the PG Cougar's Mega 50/50 jackpot.
The Funds provided will play a pivotal role in supporting the SuperTrak BMX's societies initiative to rebuild their track. This reconstruction will not only elevate the caliber of training available for athletes but also open doors to hosting larger and more prestigious competitions in Prince George - even opening the possibility of training Olympic qualifying athletes.
“We are so excited and grateful to have been awarded the funds to grow our sport in Prince George and the North. These funds will be put to good use supporting the sport of BMX and our youth/adult athlete’s in the Prince George and surrounding areas. With these funds our group has been able to secure a track upgrade/rebuild in 2024 and continue our path of fundraising for a roof to be constructed over the facility year-round.” explained Samuel Dean, Vice President – Supertrak BMX, Prince George. “We would like to give our sincerest thanks to all the parties involved that have helped make this happen. From all of us at Supertrak BMX big and small, thank you.”
Both the Prince George Community Foundation and the Rotary Club of Prince George Downtown express deep gratitude to the community for their unwavering support. It is through this collective effort that we are able to invest in projects that enhance the vibrancy and potential of our community.
“The Rotary Club of Prince George (Downtown) is pleased to support this funding allocation to the Supertrak BMX Club in partnership with the Prince George Community Foundation. Our club has a longstanding commitment to supporting youth programs in Prince George and we look forward to working with the Supertrak BMX Club to help them realize their future goals.” Says Gary Wilson, Rotary Club of Prince George Downtown President.
