PGCF Announces More Than $190,000 in General Support Grant Funding

Prince George, B.C. – The Prince George Community Foundation (PGCF) is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2026 General Support Grant Program, awarding a total of $190,862 over the next three years to support local organizations delivering vital programs and services across the region.
The General Support Grant Program, which runs each winter, provides up to $10,000 in annual funding per applicant, covering up to 50% of eligible operational costs for community-based programs and projects. This year’s grants reflect a broad cross-section of initiatives that enhance quality of life in Prince George, from arts and culture to health, education, and social services.
2026 General Support Grant Recipients
Multi-Year Grant Recipients:
- Advokate Life & Education Services Society — $6,000 per year for 2 years ($12,000 total) to support the Beyond the Bump and Baby Boutique programs
- BC SPCA — $10,000 per year for 3 years ($30,000 total) to support the Prince George North Cariboo Pet Food Bank
- Child Development Centre of Prince George & District — $10,000 per year for 3 years ($30,000 total) to support the Adapted Aquatics Pool program
- Northern Voices Speech & Arts Festival — $3,200 per year for 3 years ($9,600 total) to support the annual Speech & Dramatic Arts Festival in Prince George
- Prince George Folkfest Society — $10,000 per year for 3 years ($30,000 total) to support Coldsnap, Prince George’s multi-day winter music festival
One-Year Grant Recipients
- Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) — $4,409 to support the Prince George Mobile Hub program
- Intersect Youth & Family Services — $3,328 to support the Switchback: Youth Mountain Bike program
- Make-A-Wish Canada — $10,000 to support children and families in Prince George facing critical illness who are awaiting their wishes
- Minerva BC — $2,500 to support the Learning to Lead program in Prince George
- Northern BC Maker Collective — $10,000 to support the Making Futures program
- Prince George Regional Art Gallery Association (Two Rivers Gallery) — $10,000 to support Community Art Days: Pollinators
- Prince George Therapeutic Riding Association — $2,000 to support participation in the BCNE Renaissance Fair
- REAPS (Recycling and Environmental Action Planning Society) — $10,000 to support construction of an accessibility ramp at the Growing Knowledge Community Compost Garden Education Centre
- Scouts Canada, 3rd Prince George West Group — $1,225 to support the All-Sections Camp program
- Spinal Cord Injury BC — $6,800 to support Peer Support and Information Services programs
- UNBC – Active Minds — $9,000 to support the Northern Routes: STEAM for the Future program
- Variety – The Children’s Charity of BC — $10,000 to support private assessments for families in Prince George
